Prison Life is one of the most replayed classic games on Roblox. It’s simple in concept — prisoners try to escape; guards try to keep them in — but there’s a lot more going on beneath the surface. Whether you want to become a master escape artist or dominate as a prison guard, this guide will teach you everything you need to succeed. We have created excerpts on the best controls, basic gameplay mechanics, and some veteran tips. Let’s begin!

What is Prison Life?

Prison Life is a roleplay/action game where you either play as a prisoner and try to escape jail or play as a guard and try to prevent prisoners from escaping. It’s a constant back-and-forth between chaos and control. You can experience chases, fights, breakout attempts, lockdowns, and full-blown riots — all in one match. When you first join the game, you can pick one out of 2 roles:

  • Prisoner: You spawn in a jail cell, live by prison rules, and secretly plan to escape.
  • Guard: You spawn with weapons and keep prisoners under control.

Understand the Map and Locations

Much like any action game, you will need to keep a close eye on the map in case any of the prisoners try to make sneaky moves and get out. The map is located on the top right-hand side. You can click on the map to enlarge. It doesn’t matter if you are a prisoner or a guard, knowing the map will come in handy for you either way.

As a prisoner, you should be aware of all the entry and exit points. The game has many interesting loop holes such as small doors, fence holes, and hidden paths that prisoners can take to escape. Apart from them, there are multiple key locations on the map that new players should be aware about:

  • Cell Block: Where prisoners spawn.
  • Cafeteria: Where prisoners eat at set times.
  • Yard: An open space for free time (good for planning escapes).
  • Security Room: Guard-only room with weapons.
  • Armory: Heavy weapon storage.
  • Parking Lot: Police cars spawn here — crucial for full escape.
  • Outside Areas: Fences, towers, and paths leading to freedom.

Learn the Controls

Before we explain the controls, its important to note that some controls are only available if you play the game on your PC or Laptop with a keyboard and mouse. Players can feel free to use BlueStacks and it’s multiple supportive features to enjoy a seamless Prison Life experience. Coming to the controls – Sprinting, shift locking, automatic weapon usage, and other features do not operate on mobile devices.

You need to learn the controls for optimal movement patterns. To move, use the arrow keys, WASD, or touchscreen. To jump, use space or the jump button. To crouch, use C. To punch, use F. Shift to sprint. The last three are only for PC and computer players. Ensure to look for the stamina bar. It depletes each time you jump. When it runs out, you will be unable to jump. It can be recharged by eating meals. It also regenerates gradually with time. This is quite difficult to apply because these are only available at the cafeteria. It used to refill health, but now it heals and then swiftly damages the same amount it healed.

Basic Tips for Inmates

Here are some personalized tips for players opting to play as Prisoners in Prison Life:

  • Do not stand around. Guards will take this chance to begin assaulting you with tasers.
  • Know the schedule so you don’t get arrested as quickly. Some regions are off limits at times, which is why guards have the authority to arrest you.
  • If you’re arrested, rapidly reset your character. Getting arrested means you won’t be allowed to pick up anything till you die again.
  • The vending machines are basically worthless because they no longer dispense snacks (they only pre-dispense when a server is built). They can be utilized to evade hostile fire.
  • When first starting out, rushing the guard area for weapons with others is usually an acceptable strategy. Depending on the gadget you’re using, this could be fatal, resulting in frequent respawns. For the time being, it is preferable to continue as usual and adhere to the timetable.
  • If you wish to swiftly acquire a weapon without being detected, head to the window on the right by the yard and utilize the camera glitch to grab the primitive knife under the table. This will not attract notice because guards cannot see what you’re doing, making it an excellent approach to obtain a firearm.

Basic Tips for Guards

Here are some personalized tips for players opting to play as Guards in Prison Life:

  • Equip a shotgun or M4A1 as soon as possible. You can obtain these at the armory in the guard area (where you spawn).
  • You can open the doors throughout the jail; however, the other two teams (inmate and criminal) must murder you to obtain a key card to access them. You may also note that you have a taser and handcuffs, which you may use to stun inmates and arrest criminals. Do not abuse the taser or the arrest system, otherwise you will be targeted for the duration of the game session.
  • If you want an automatic weapon for free, go to the warehouse and take an AK47. Be cautious, as criminals can respawn there.
  • Do not use the taser to tase people at random. You will face great hatred and be targeted.
  • When using a weapon, do not kill people randomly. You will receive warnings, and if you kill three, you will become an inmate and will be unable to rejoin the guard squad unless you rejoin or exploit.

Players can enjoy playing Roblox games on a bigger screen of their PC or Laptop via BlueStacks along with your keyboard and mouse.
